Charge Nurse - Level 3

"If you have a passion for general surgery and like to be busy, then you'll enjoy being part of our team. Patients are undergoing a range of surgeries, including palliative surgery. It can be demanding work, but the nurses find they are well supported. I think it's an exceptional team - everyone helps each other. Level Three is on the top floor. We care primarily for gastrointestinal, hepatic, urology and gynaecology patients in 17 private rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Major surgery includes hepatectomy, gastric bypass, nephrectomy, bowel surgery or complicated gynae procedures.

Our busy workload balances care for high acuity patients and those having more minor procedures.

Staffing: Shifts are rostered and rotating across mornings and afternoons. Wakefield Hospital’s permanent night team covers Level 3 so there is very little requirement to work night shifts.
